Your choice of spraydeck should be based on the type of kayaking you are planning to use it for. There are 3 main types of spraydeck: Nylon, Combination and Neoprene.

For recreational & light touring a nylon spraydeck is adequate. For sea kayaking and longer touring we recommend combi-decks which combine a neoprene deck for shedding water with a comfortable waist tube.

For whitewater or surf we recommend a neoprene spraydeck. These form a better seal between the spraydeck and the kayaks, some neoprene decks have a latex coating on the underside for maximum grip. This reduces the amount of water likely to enter the kayak, but makes the spraydeck more difficult to get on and off your kayak.

Palm Coniston Nylon Spraydeck

Lightweight, durable spraydeck. A high-back cut designed for fixed or variable height kayak seats. Sloping design stops water pooling behind the paddler. An adjustable waist (60 - 127cm) makes the Coniston easy to get on & off. The front edge features additional abrasion protection.

Pyranha Angry Fish Deck

The Pyranha Angry Fish deck is a well-designed neoprene spraydeck designed to accompany Pyranha's range of whitewater kayaks. Dive quality 4mm neoprene with kevlar reinforcing on the edges of the deck. The underside of the deck features a latex edge to give a strong grip on the cockpit rim. Seams are glued, stitched and sealed with latex.
